It was a pretty miserable day in Grafton yesterday when Tom Henry came to visit Renee Gordon in her lab.  He looked like a natural on the microscope.

Renee has been working with stems cells that develop into mature brain cells under certain conditions. She showed Tom some fluorescently labelled astrocytes which she had cultured in a dish. 

Renee captured this image yesterday: the cells are green, and their nuclei are blue.
