Henry Waldvogel is an experienced microscopist. He uses various histological techniques and microscopes for analysis, to look at the complex connections in the brain, particularly at the cellular level.
Henry often works with post-mortem human brain tissue from the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand Human Brain Bank, based at the Centre for Brain Research. Characterising the expression of various proteins in different brain regions can contribute to knowledge about brain function in health and in disease.
Henry’s artist partner Henrietta Harris had a look down the microscope when she came to the lab.
