Do You Mind? Team
The Do You Mind? project was a collaboration initiated between neuroscientist Megan Dowie and The Busy Nice; an arts management company run by Erin and Leah Forsyth, brought to you in association with the Centre for Brain Research.
The Busy Nice
The Busy Nice is a creative agency run by Erin and Leah Forsyth. After some time gaining experience both as artists and as curators the sisters established this project-based company in January 2010 in order to lead their own projects with what they describe as art and art event management with heart. Keeping it open and professional has so far allowed exhibitions, studios, installations and publications to develop. Each project contributes to the growing agency identity, telling stories of a business as busy as it is nice.
Dr Megan Dowie
During Do You Mind? Megan was a Post-Doctoral researcher in the Receptor Signalling Laboratory at the Centre for Brain Research, supported by a Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Post-Doctoral Research Award. She undertook research into a cannabis-like signalling system in the brain and was also involved in a number of science engagement activities. Megan is now the Girdlers’ NZ HRC Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, spending time getting overexcited about electron microscopy and new art-science collaborations.
The Centre for Brain Research
The Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland is a unique partnership between scientists, clinicians and the community. Established in 2009, the Centre does world-class neuroscience research carried out by cross-faculty research teams, alongside clinical collaborations with leading neurologists, neurosurgeons and physicians in the Auckland region. The Centre is led by neuroscientist Professor Richard Faull and neurologist Professor Alan Barber.
